Between 19th March and 2 April 2026, I hosted my first ever solo exhibition at Gateway Gallery, Chester Street, Shrewsbury. It was called ‘Channel Crossing’. You can listen to a podcast all about it, created by The Art Shrew – Lucy Caddel. It’s somewhere on the link to Gateway Gallery

The basic idea is that, in life, we are all crossing a channel of infinite experience, possibility and challenge. In doing so, we are variously inspired, exhilirated, depressed, dragged through the mud, galvanised into action, and so on, and so on, for the duration of our entire lives.
Like many, I sometimes struggle with the endless stream of thoughts and feelings triggered by these experiences, positive and negative. This exhibition was my attempt to create enough focus, for a short while, to bring some of this creative (and sometimes destructive) impetus into visible form so that I could share it
Another key goal was to complete my first ever visual art exhbibition by way of preparation for the next major one at Bear Steps Shrewsbury, in October 2026. This coincides with my 70th birthday. This is all about an ancient civilisation I discovered, buried in my head. It’s called DADA LUZ and you could participate by creating a portrait (self or othere).
